Gen. Roberts at the Monument of
Gen. Gibson, Congressional Cemetery, DC

General Roberts is a member of the Society of Cincinnati and the Sons of the American Revolution. He is a descendant of Colonel George Gibson, one of General George Washington’s Commanders at Valley Forge.

General Roberts is standing beside the monument of his ancestor, Maj. Gen. George C. Gibson (1783-1861), at Congressional Cemetery. Gen. Gibson served throughout the War of 1812, with Gen. Andrew Jackson in the Florida campaigns, and throughout the Mexican War. He was appointed quartermaster-general in 1816 and served in that position for more than 50 years. President Lincoln and Gen. Winfield Scott, among others, attended Gen. Gibson's funeral. Photo of Gen. George Gibson
